Iztok Utrosa, the best shuttler from Slovenia, put up staggering performance on court as he reached into Men’s Singles final after showing exit to Matthias Almer of Austria semi-final encounter at Victor Slovak Open 2012 in Slovakia, on September 8.
The top seeded Utrosa, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, continued putting up strong show on court and remained successful in beating his Austrian challenger in a commanding way.
Higher ranked Utrosa showed aggression on court without showing even a little sign of confusion and managed to finish up this semi-final clash in straight games with a huge difference on score board.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Matthias played quivering badminton as he could not put up strong show against his top seeded challenger and eventually went down in a vulnerable fashion without creating a strong impact on the crowd.
In the first game, both contestants showed aggressive approach and kept the interest of the crowd intact while remaining neck-to-neck at the opening stage.
Both players played with speed and accuracy which kept them intact until the break when no one could establish a comfortable gap.
However, the impressive Slovenian shuttler played with precision after the mid-game interval and managed a wonderful lead on the board.
The top seeded Utrosa was one-class above his rival in the concluding phase of opening set and he managed to take the game with a convincing difference of 21-17.
In the meanwhile, Matthias could not maintain his speed on court in the second game and remained struggling to take the bird early which helped Utrosa to easily occupy the driving seat.
Utrosa employed all of his shots to maintain his supremacy over his rival on court and managed a wonderful lead until the mid-game interval.
In the concluding phase, the Slovenian shuttler remained consistent on court and put up strong show without showing any mercy to his rival. He wrapped up the second game with a phenomenal difference of 21-13.
The incredible Utrosa won this Men’s Singles semi-final showdown in a dictating fashion with a huge 21-17 and 21-13 margin on the board.
