Zuckerberg criticises Facebook’s mobile strategy
Wednesday, September 12th, 2012 6:03:24 by Farasat AliThe founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, admits that his company has made many mistakes in its implementation strategy for mobile and ensured that the native Android version will arrive soon.
During the TechCrunch Disrupt conference held in San Francisco, Zuckerberg explained that Facebook wants to focus more on mobile devices:
"We want to build a system as deeply integrated in each device that people want to use," he was quoted as saying.
Facebook founder admitted that one of the biggest mistakes was to use HTML5 instead of native applications. Zuckerberg has promised the arrival of a native application for Android and iOS that will works for Apple.
"We have wasted two years," he concluded.
A native application for Android will improve the speed of browsing Facebook, large data files and executing applications.
"We’ve gone through a period of transition and now we are a mobile company," he added Zuckerberg, who believes that the future of Facebook depends on their adaptation to mobile devices.
However, Zuckerberg said Facebook is not going to launch any smartphone itself, an idea which, he said, is not part of the projects of the company: "We will not do it, but if
we did, we could get between 10 and 20 million users" he said.
