Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett talks about his upcoming book ‘Too Much Horror Business

Metallica lead guitarist, Kirk Hammett, is set to release the book, Too Much Horror Business – The Kirk Hammett Collection.

In a recent interview with SFGate.com, the 49-year-old revealed about his upcoming book, which contains over 300 images along with captions written by him and pictures of horror memorabilia such as posters, latex masks and even life-sized silicone models of Bela Lugosi and Boris Karloff.

“I’ve been into this stuff since I was 5 years old. You could say I started as a collector back then. But at one point, when I was 14, I discovered music, and for a long time it took over my life. I’ve lived with this stuff for so long on an intimate one-on-one basis. It’s going to be a leap for me once everyone knows what I have”, Hammett stated.

The talented guitarist went on to reveal about how Metallica has dealt with the harsh criticism of their recent work.

It’s a very difficult thing. You end up competing with yourself … We’re not those people that we were when we were making those other albums, sorry to say. That’s the way it is. It’s totally and completely and absolutely fine with me that we’re not those people”, Hammett concluded.
