Joaquim Rodriguez Oliver is under contract with his current side, Team Katusha for one more year but it has been reported that the cyclist is trying to end his associations with the team.
He joined the Russian squad back in 2010 and has been a real help for the team in the past three years.
“Rodriguez has a contract with Katusha until 2013 and aims to renew with conditions that meet the sporting achievements made during this season,” his manager Angel Edo told Deia.
“Given the refusal of renewal, ‘Purito’ raises the idea of terminating the contract” says Edo.
“He has equipment offers of the highest level, with better economic conditions and longer contracts until 2015”.
Rodriguez marked his professional debut with Team ONCE-Eroski in 2001 and stayed with the team till the end of 2003.
He rode with Team Saunier Duval-Prodir through 2004-05 and accepted a four-year (2006-09) deal with Team Caisse d’Epargne-Illes Balears.
The Spaniard was approached by several teams but his terms profound satisfactory with the Russian side for 2010 season.
