The incredible Jonathan, who was positioned at number two in Men’s Singles draw of the championship, continued his dominating performance and gave a severe lesson to his rival in a convincing manner.
Higher ranked Jonathan was in tremendous control of the game in the final encounter as he played with precision and remained successful in overpowering Joshua in a one-sided fashion by finishing up the match in two sets with a wonderful difference.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Joshua was just unable to show his brilliance as he failed to get rid of his rival who was on a different level. He could not cope up with the speed and accuracy of his opponent and remained unable to escape defeat in
straight games in less than half-an-hour.
The opening game was shocking for the lower ranked Joshua as the in-form Jonathan put up strong show of aggressive badminton and took a staggering lead in opening points.
Jonathan employed impressive variations in his shots and managed a huge gap on score board until the one-minute break.
In the second half, Jonathan remained consistent in showing up his incredible craft on court without facing any trouble and eventually remained successful in taking the set with an unbelievable margin of 21-6.
In the second game, Joshua put up good resistance in opening points and remained slightly behind his in-form rival who managed a small lead this time.
However, Jonathan played positive badminton and stretched the gap after the mid-game interval by injecting more power into his shots. He dictated Joshua in all corners of the court and ended up the set with a wonderful 21-14 margin on the board.
Jonathan won the crown in a fabulous fashion by ending up the final set with a completely commanding difference of 21-6 and 21-14.
