Ratchanok Intanon, one of the best players from Thailand, lived up to expectations as she reached into Women’s Singles final after showing exit to Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in pre-quarter-final battle at Li Ning China Masters 2012 in China, on September 13.
Ratchanok, who is World Number 10 and seeded at number five in the Women’s Singles draw, remained successful in delivering a remarkable performance. She easily managed to overpower Nozomi in a completely dictating manner in this contest.
The in-form Ratchanok was in complete control of rallies as she remained on driving seat all the way in the pre-quarter-final battle and overpowered her un-seeded opponent in two sets with a comfortable margin.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Nozomi tried to give a good fight in opening set of the match but she could not dictate the pace of rallies at the crucial stages and finally lost the battle without showing her impressive class.
The first game was interesting when both players pulled the attention of local crowd by playing positive and composed badminton and remained close at initial stage.
Thai lady tried her best to put up strong show but she failed to build up a reasonable lead and remained struggling until end of opening half.
In the concluding half, the higher ranked Ratchanok remained focused and she started to play with variations which helped her to play well at the ending points and she took the game with a decent margin of 21-17.
Nozomi played positive badminton in the second set but failed to stop her rival from taking over the control of the pace of rallies.
Ratchanok, in the meanwhile, played safe and positive badminton in opening half and took a superb lead until one-minute interval.
After the break, Ratchanok continued showing up her tremendous craft on court. She did not let her challenger to reduce the score and eventually took the second set with a superb 21-15 score on the board.
Ratchanok emerged as winner in this pre-quarter-final contest in a commanding manner with a difference of 21-17 and 21-15.
