Du Pengyu powers his way into Men’s Singles semi-final at Li Ning China Masters 2012

Series in China, on September 14.
The fourth seeded Pengyu, who has been positioned at number 10 in Men’s Singles world placements, employed his extensive experience and overpowered his lower ranked team-mate Zhengming without having a considerable trouble on court.
The in-form Pengyu has been working really hard to win a super series title for the last couple of years and reaching in the semi-final of China Masters indicates that he is ready to take bigger challenges at international level.
Higher ranked Pengyu played remarkable badminton in quarter-final battle against his spirited team-mate.
Pengyu remained in commanding position in the whole fight and remained successful in showing exit to his opponent in straight sets with a huge difference by taking 45 minutes on court.
The opening game of this contest was quite engaging when both players played with aggression and precision at the initial stage.
The lower ranked Zhengming played impressive game and remained successful in taking an early lead but he failed to maintain it as Pengyu played with aggression and managed a decent lead until the mid-game interval.
Pengyu continued employing his attacking skills on court after the break as he did not show any sign of slowing down his speed and won the first game with a wonderful margin of 21-11.
In the second set, the incredible Pengyu remained focused in the game as he continued his power play by taking the bird early from all corners and took an impressive lead of 11-5 until the end of first half.
Zhengming accelerated his speed after the break and tried to reduce the deficit but could not put up strong show as his opponent did not spare any gap for him.
In the meanwhile, Pengyu continued his focused and composed play and remained successful in winding up the set with a crushing 21-12 margin on the board.
Pengyu cheered his home fans by playing flawless badminton in quarter-final contest and he won it with an overall margin of 21-11 and 21-12.
