Freddie Roach lashes out at Amir Khan for comparing himself to Manny Pacquiao
Thursday, September 20th, 2012 4:12:11 by Imran Shaukat KhanInternational Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is not happy at all with the former WBA and IBF light welterweight champion Amir Khan. Roach has worked with Khan for almost three years but now the Brit has left him as he wants to work with a new trainer.
Khan wants someone to teach him more about defence and he believes Roach doesn’t know much, when it comes to the defensive side of the game.
Recently Khan stated that he and Pacquiao are the best offensive fighters in the world but they are not good with the defence and this thing has irked Roach.
Khan lost his title to Danny Garcia via a fourth round TKO but Roach thinks the Filipino boxing icon wouldn’t have lost a single round against the American.
“I wanted (Pacquiao) to fight the guy Garcia, Danny Garcia. I wanted that fight because Amir Khan says that I don’t teach defense to him and Manny Pacquiao,” Roach said.
“Why did he compare himself to Manny Pacquiao? It depends on what I taught him. Let’s see what Manny does with your opponent. Manny wouldn’t lose a round,” he added.
In the end, Roach also commented on Pacquiao’s upcoming fight with his archrival Juan Manuel Marquez, which will take place on December 8 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Roach said his man has not been able to produce the game plan against Marquez but he is sure he will produce it this time.
“The game plan I’ve set for him for the last three fights, I know it’s the right game plan, but the thing is, it’s not working in the fights. I haven’t come up with a good idea yet to know what I need to do for him to win that fight but I’m thinking every day. As I watch tapes of his opponent, we will come up with an answer.”
Well, all said and done, let’s see if Amir Khan responds to Freddie Roach.

Hey Amir you’re just overhyped fighter. Quit blaming anybody but you!
Freddie Roach is a legend Trainer i would never leave him i think khan has done the biggest mistake as he is a boxer not a trainer so he should not judge fredie.
Respect to All Boxers
After a silver medal performance in the Olympics,Khan was hyped as the next big thing in British boxing. But it took a Breides Presccott to expose him, a first round knockout loss right in front of his shocked millions of British fans. Thus was Khan exposed as overrated and some gave him the moniker Amir King Con.To recover frm that loss,he decided to acquire a new trainer and ended up at the Wild Card gym under the tutelage of Freddie Roach. Not very long after, that team-up produced positive results and Khan captured a world title that bloated his ego a thousandfold. But a Danny Garcia dealt him his 2nd. knockout loss, and this time around he sort of blaming his trainer for that debacle. He couldn’t cope w/ that loss, and w/ his tattered reputation ,now blames everyone but himself. What a sportsman!
Well, well, the cat is out in the bag. When Amir Khan was winning under Freddie Roach, he didn’t say anything about defense. Now that he was brutally knocked down 3 times by Garcia until the ref stopped the fight, he says Roach didn’t teach him defense. Is it Freddie’s fault if Khan has a brittle chin? Khan should be thankful that Freddie was able to resurrect his career after that humiliating 1st round knockout he suffered from Breidis Prescott.
AMIR KHAN IS TO FAR AWAY TO COMPARE HERSELF TO THE PACMAN
AMIR WEAK CHIN…LOCK STAMINA..POWER..DURABILITY..STYLE..
KHAN CAN DO IS ALWAYS QUACKING LIKE A DUCKLING
BAD ATTITUDE
You can compare an apple to an apple but person wise, even twins are different. The 8 divison championships Pacquiao won means a lot. I wouldn’t say Pacquiao has not developed good defense during this present time he has been with Roach. I guess Amir is a good boxer and a good offensive boxer at times. But, there is no trainer in the whole wide world that could teach a boxer to make his chin stronger. Amir simply lost against better boxers.
