Reacting over the defections in the party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that only opportunists were parting ways with him while people who are determined to bring change are joining hands with his party.

While addressing a press conference, Imran Khan said that his party will make clean sweep victory in the coming polls.

He observed, “In coming months, good reputed politicians will join the party; PTI will win the upcoming elections on the basis of its manifesto and ideology.”

Earlier on Wednesday, PTI’s Central Vice President Dr Shireen Mazari resigned from the party citing that the party and its chairman have been hijacked by feudal mindset.

In her messages posted on Twitter, Mazari said, “The membership drive was hijacked by ‘big money’ this has compromised the party elections.”

Terming the PTI and Pakistan’s ideology the same thing, the cricketer-turned-politician said his party will make this country an Islamic welfare state and social justice will prevail.

He stated people joining the PTI were not asking for any particular positions but are only coming in its folds on ideological grounds. He believed that the party will strengthen further in the next three-four months.

Imran Khan said the entries into and exits from his party will not make any difference.

Commenting about the ruling government, the former captain accused the government of hypocrisy.

He was of the opinion that the government on one hand condemns drone attacks and on the other it is working in collusion with the United States.

He noted, “The investigative report of the American university has proved that 90 percent of the victims falling prey to drone strikes are innocents.”

The former cricketer said he wished one day President Asif Ali Zardari would also address the Pakistani nation, derogatorily pointing at President Zardari’s speech at the United Nations.

He wondered, “The US could not even save Shah Iran and Pervez Musharraf; so how will it protect Asif Zardari?”

Regretting that the people belonging to the elite class avoid paying tax, he said that the poor community is being persecuted through price hike and demanded of the government to slash the prices of petrol and diesel.
