Tai Tzu Ying, one of the best players from Chinese Taipei, showed her aggression on court and earned glory by winning the Women’s Singles title at the Yonex Japan Open Super Series 2012 on September 23, in Japan.
In the final encounter, Tzu Ying proved her mettle on Japan’s Eriko Hirose in a spectacular fashion without showing her any mercy on court.
Tzu Ying, who has been positioned at number 11 in Women’s Singles ranking, showed a wonderful performance and overpowered her lower ranked Japanese opponent in a hard-fought rubber-game battle.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Hirose could not live up to the expectations of her huge home crowd as she could not overpower her higher ranked Taipei opponent despite giving a good fight.
In the opening game, Hirose was in complete control of rallies from the opening points as she took the bird early and maintained pressure on her Taipei contestant on back foot without facing any considerable fight.
Tzu Ying failed bridge the huge gap and remained trailing until the end of first half until the mid-game break.
After the one-minute interval, Tzu Ying injected more pace in her shots in the concluding phase of opening game but failed to show her brilliance and lost the game with a huge difference of 9-21.
Nevertheless, the higher ranked Tzu Ying powered her way back into the battle by putting up spectacular show of flawless badminton in the following game.
The impressive Tzu Ying remained in impressive control of rallies all the way to grab the second game with a lopsided margin of 21-9.
In the final set, Tzu Ying took over the control without facing any trouble and remained dominating throughout the remaining battle and ended the set with a huge 21-14 score on the board.
The remarkable Tzu Ying won the Women’s Singles title by winding up the final battle in rubber games with an interesting margin of 9-21, 21-9 and 21-14.
