Gina Carano signs multiple highly ranked movies sequels

MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter and actress Gina Carano is set to star in a female action film based off of the popular Expendables franchise.

Indie Wire reports Adi Shankar (The Grey) and his production company 1984 Private Defense Contractors will produce the movie. Screenwriter Dutch Southern is writing the script. The film has not been given a title yet.

Shankar says Carano (Haywire) is completely vital for the movie, declaring “I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of The Expendables without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel
or Jamba Juice without jamba.”

No other cast-members have been announced so far, but fans are hoping for action stars like Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast & Furious), and Kate Beckinsale (Underworld).

Rodriguez said in a recent interview that she probably would not do the movie, according to Crave Online. She states she has not made enough action movies to be able to make fun of her past performances, unlike the majority of actors in the Expendables,
who have a variety of past material.

Carano can be seen in two new movies next year, The Fast and the Furious 6 and In the Blood.
