Katinka Hosszu and Cameron van der Burgh won gold medals of the Women’s 200m freestyle and Men’s 50m breaststroke respectively at the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup in Dubai.
With her unrelenting efforts, Hosszu remained full body length ahead of her following swimmer and touched the wall for gold medal by clocking a time of 1 minute and 55.97 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Hang Yu Sze, who was 1.15 seconds apart and tapped the wall for silver medal by reporting a time of 1 minute and 57.12 seconds.
The silver medallist was chased by Darya Zevina, who stayed 0.63 seconds slower form overpowering her foregoing finisher and surfaced on the wall as third best finisher by posting an effort of 1 minute and 57.75 seconds.
Zevina was traced by Zsuzsanna Jakabos, who remained 0.07 seconds behind and surfaced on the wall as fourth best finisher by producing a time of 1 minute and 57.82 seconds.
Afterwards, van der Burgh dominated the playoff of 50m breaststroke. With his continuous efforts, Burgh stayed just a stroke ahead of his closest competitor and touched the wall for gold medal by clocking a wonderful effort of 26.64 seconds.
The gold medallist was traced by Guilio Zorzi, who remained 0.27 seconds away from upsetting the gold medallist and touched the wall for second position with the timing of 26.91 seconds.
The second position holder was trailed by Glenn Snyders, who stayed 0.13 seconds behind and transpired on the finishing end as third fastest swimmer by clocking an effort of 27.04 seconds.
The bronze medallist was chased by Marco Koch, who remained only 0.01 seconds apart and settled on the wall as fourth best swimmer by producing a time of 27.05 seconds.
Koch was followed by Neil Versfeld, who stayed 0.19 seconds apart and emerged on the finishing blockade as fifth position holder by posting a time of 27.24 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts at the victory ceremony of the championship.
