Indonesia’s impressive shuttler Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka continued his winning run and reached into Men’s Singles final after ousting his compatriot Alamsyah Yunus in the semi-final contest at Indonesia Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton 2012 in Indonesia on
September 29.
The in-form Rumbaka, who was the fourth seeded shuttler in the tournament, showed his remarkable skills and managed to end up the impressive run of his opponent in the tournament and secured a title berth.
Rumbaka remained struggling in the opening set of the match but he showed a strong performance in the following sets. He played positive badminton in the final set and won the battle in three games with a reasonable margin.
The lower ranked seeded Yunus, in the meanwhile, put up good show and took the opening game but failed to remain consistent and eventually crashed out with a respectable difference.
In the first set, both contestants were fully focused as they played with tremendous precision and aggression and remained toe-to-toe until the end of first set.
In the concluding phase, the impressive Rumbaka tried to take advantage on board by playing with impressive precision but could not put up strong show and ultimately lost the opening set with a close margin of 19-21.
In the second game of this semi-final battle, the lofty Rumbaka showed his brilliance by playing positive and aggressive badminton this time and managed an impressive lead until the end of first half.
The fourth seeded Rumbaka remained successful in the concluding phase and managed to end up the second set with a spectacular margin of 21-10.
In the final game, the higher ranked Indonesian player maintained his upper hand over his team-mate and again took a reasonable lead until the end of first half.
The incredible Rumbaka continued proving his worth on court by playing dominating game and eventually took the set with a 21-14 score on the board.
Rumbaka emerged as the winner in this 65-minute straight set contest by a reasonable margin of 19-21, 21-10 and 21-14.
