Robert Hurley and Therese Alshammar won gold medals of the Men’s 100m backstroke and Women’s 100m butterfly respectively at the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup.
With his laudable efforts, Hurley stayed just a touch ahead of his strongest rival and secured gold medal of the event by touching the wall with a timing of 50.38 seconds.
His title claiming effort remained 0.04 seconds slower from Stanislav Donets, who stayed 0.04 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall for silver medal by producing a time of 50.42 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Ashley Delaney, who was nearly full body length apart and transpired on the finishing end for bronze medal with a timing of 51.35 seconds.
Delaney was trailed by Guilherme Guido, who stayed 0.40 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and touched the wall for fourth position with an effort of 51.75 seconds.
Fifth finest spot of the race was secured by Yuki Shirai, who stayed 0.15 seconds behind and finished his race in a time of 51.90 seconds.
Afterwards, Alshammar occupied gold medal of the butterfly discipline. Alshammar stayed in a prominent lead over her rivals and transpired on the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 56.68 seconds.
The champion was traced by Ingvild Snildal, who stayed 1.30 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 57.98 seconds.
Snildal was followed by Emilia Pikarainen, who was 0.50 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and emerged on the finishing end as third best finisher by clocking an effort of 58.48 seconds.
The third position holder was traced by Inge Dekker, who remained 0.29 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall as fourth best finisher by clocking an effort of 58.77 seconds.
Granstrom suffered a loss of 0.14 seconds over her former finisher and hit the wall for fifth position by posting an effort of 58.91 seconds.
In addition, the crowd appreciated gruelling position holders received awards and accolades for their gruelling efforts at the prize ceremony of the tournament.
