Significant losses disappoints Intel’s Otellini
Wednesday, October 17th, 2012 6:03:29 by Farasat AliIntel, the largest chipmaker in the world, has seen an 8% loss in the first nine months of the year. The revenues of the company dropped significantly from 8,600 million dollars to about 6,500 million Euros,
from January to September 2012.
In regard to the results of the third quarter, Intel has unveiled a net profit of 2,972 million dollars (2,270 million), up 14.3% from 3.468 million in the same period last year.
"Our third quarter results are affected by the difficult economic climate. The computer world is experiencing a period of revolutionary innovations and creativity. Regarding our outlook for the fourth quarter, we are pleased
with the continued progress made ??by the Ultrabook systems and
Smartphones and we have high expectations for ranges Intel tablets that will be available soon." The CEO was quoted as saying.
The results have been confirmed from IHS, who told that Intel has faced a major decline for the first time in 11 years in 2012. It now looks like the technology giants will now reduce selling the computers across
the world after knowing that the users are attracted more towards ultra books and iPads.
The tablet, which is not counted in these statistics, is stopping the sale, although it is expected that the output of the Windows 8 operating system later this month, will mark a significant change in the sales of the company.
