Katinka Hosszu and Rie Kaneto won gold medals of the Women’s 200m freestyle and 100m breaststroke respectively at the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup.
Hosszu enjoyed an advantage of full body length over her toughest competitor and touched the wall for gold medal with a timing of 1 minute and 55.46 seconds.
The gold medallist was trailed by Zsuzsanna Jakabos, who remained 0.97 seconds slower and tapped the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 56.43 seconds for silver medal.
Jakabos was followed by Jun Jun Guo, who stayed 0.34 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and emerged on the wall for bronze medal with a timing of 1 minute and 56.77 seconds.
Guo was chased by Kylie Stewart, who stayed more than one and a half body length behind and surfaced on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 58.43 seconds for fourth place.
Fifth finest spot of the race was secured by Vitalina Simonova, who was 0.04 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 58.47 seconds.
Following that, Kaneto dominated the playoff of 100m breaststroke. With her gruelling form, Kaneto stayed just a touch ahead of her toughest swimmer as she earned her way to the podium for the crown by submitting a time of 1 minute and 06.18 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Mio Motegi, who was only 0.01 seconds slower and emerged on the finishing end as second best finisher by reporting an effort of 1 minute and 06.19 seconds.
The second position holder was chased by Maria Temnikova, who stayed one and a half body length behind and occupied bronze medal of the event with a timing of 1 minute and 07.55 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was gained by Jenna Laukkanen, who stayed 0.29 seconds slower from overpowering her former finisher and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 07.84 seconds.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize ceremony of the tournament.
