Kenneth To and Sean Mahoney won gold medals of the Men’s 100m Individual Medley (IM) and 200m breaststroke respectively at the 2012 FINA/ARENA Swimming World Cup.
To remained just an inch ahead of his strongest competitor, George Bovell and emerged on the finishing wall for gold medal with a timing of 51.66 seconds.
The champion was traced by George Bovell, who stayed 0.15 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall for silver medal with a timing of 51.81 seconds.
The silver medallist stayed 1.38 seconds ahead of Darian Townsend, who stepped on the finishing end for bronze medal by producing an effort of 53.19 seconds.
Afterwards, the audience saw gruelling efforts of Fabio Scozzoli and Henrique Rodrigues, who started a stroke-to-stroke battle for fourth position.
Both swimmers tried struggled hard to overpower each other over the finishing end but failed to do so and finished their swims in an identical time for fourth place.
They remained 0.64 seconds slower from the third position holder and tapped the wall with a timing of 53.83 seconds.
On the other hand, Mahoney captured gold medal of the breaststroke discipline. With his commendable efforts in the 200m discipline, Mahoney sprinted his way towards the wall for the title with a timing of 2 minutes and 05.11 seconds.
The gold medallist was trailed by Viatcheslav Sinkevich, who stayed 0.95 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall for silver medal with a timing of 2 minutes and 06.06 seconds.
Sinkevich was chased by Marco Koch, who remained 0.33 seconds away from overpowering his foregoing finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 06.39 seconds.
Koch was followed by Anton of Russia, who was 0.19 seconds behind and tapped the wall for fourth position by clocking a time of 2 minutes and 06.58 seconds.
In addition, the position holder received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize ceremony of the event while the session came to an end after the conclusion of all listed events.
