Kristina Gavnholt, the most impressive shuttler from Czech Republic, played in a dominating fashion and claimed Women’s Singles title by stamping her mark over local shuttler Judith Meulendijks at the Yonex Dutch Open 2012 in Netherlands, on October 14.
The third seeded Kristina, who has been playing remarkable badminton for the last few months, put in extra effort in the final battle and remained successful in beating her local opponent in a thrilling fight.
Kristina could not show her brilliance in the opening game of the match but found her rhythm back in the following sets and won the battle in three games with a decent score on the board.
In the meanwhile, the lower naked Judith played good badminton in the opening set by employing her impressive craft.
However, Judith failed to maintain her rhythm on court when it mattered most and eventually lost the match with a respectable difference on the score board.
Kristina could not play well in the opening game as she failed to stop the aggression and attacking play of her local opponent and remained trailing behind on score board.
On the contrary, the local player showed a great performance and spared no chance for Kristina to put up even meagre resistance as she executed powerful strokes and remained ahead until the end of first half.
In the concluding part, the in-form Kristina could not stop the progress of her rival and eventually lost the game with a huge margin of 14-21.
However, Kristina showed aggression in the following set by playing attacking game and managed to get a strong position until the end of first half.
In the ending phase of second game, the impressive Kristina remained consistent in her elevated play without showing any mercy to her lower ranked opponent and won the set with a dominating margin of 21-13.
Both shuttlers put up wonderful show in the final set and no one could establish a reasonable lead until the one-minute interval.
However, it was Kristina who played smart badminton in the ending half of final set and remained successful in finishing it up with a 21-17 margin on the board.
The spirited Kristina emerged as the title winner as she ended up the final set with a reasonable score of 14-21, 21-13 and 21-17.
