No one has dare to move parliamentary resolution on North Waziristan: Fazlur Rehman

In quite a hard-hitting tone, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has warned the ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) for bringing a resolution in parliament on North Waziristan.
The Maulana said that no one, even the government, could dare to move a resolution in parliament to launch an army operation in the North Waziristan.
He said, “Pakistan is not a strategic partner of any other country because the law and order of Pakistan is our own problem. We are bound to rectify the situation and restore normalcy to the country.”
Likewise the TTP statement, Fazlur Rehman also criticized media saying that it provides one-sided coverage to Malala Yousafzai while it continues to ignore Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who has been in languishing in an American prison for years.
Terming the media coverage given to Malala Yousafzai as propaganda for the sake of vested interests, the JUI-F leader said that innocent people including women and children were killed daily but no one turns up to take notice of the atrocities.
Replying to a query about second revival of the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), he said that if the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) should write an application for consideration if it wishes to join the coalition, it.
He was of the opinion that the alliance of senior leaders will consider their plea in the meeting if anyone wants to join MMA. Ruling out an electoral alliance with any party, he conceded they would consider seat adjustments with other parties in the upcoming general elections.
He made it clear that the religious parties will contest polls from MMA’s platform, adding that the reorganization of the coalition will be completed in a month’s time.
Referring to the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Asghar Khan petition, the JUI-F said that the presidency should not have any political wing and should refrain from expelling or inducting anyone in the government setup.
Moreover, he alleged that the establishment has always influenced the political landscape of Pakistan in the past.
Rehman maintained that a mere decision was not enough in Asghar Khan’s case and a thorough probe should be conducted. “If a prime minister of the country could be sent packing, punishment should also be declared in this case as well,” he added.
