Muslims should follow Islamic teachings to promote peace: Hajj Sermon

Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh while giving Hajj Sermon called upon the Muslim community to follow teachings of Islam to promote peace and brotherhood.

In his Hajj Sermon at Masjid-e-Namra in Maidan-e-Arafat Thursday‚ he said Islam teaches patience and tolerance and abhors all types of violence in the society.

He said it is the prime responsibility of the Muslims not to harm anyone on the basis of caste‚ creed and religion.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh said Islam is the only religion which has to stay and every Muslim should work to preach its teachings. He said we can implement Islam by following the Sunnah of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

“Religion is only what Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) gave us, no other religion would be accepted,” he said

“Our life and death is only for Allah, be afraid of the Day of Judgment, barbarism and oppression have nothing to do with Islam,” al-Aziz said. He urged Muslim to reduce difference amongst them. “Enemies are conspiring against Muslim,”

He also asked the Muslims to ensure better prepare their children so that they become good Muslims and play their due role in establishing a peaceful society.

He also asked the rulers to work for resolution of the problems being faced by the people. He said Muslim countries will have to work for improving their economies to overcome socio-economic and political problems.

The Hujjaj after staying in Madan-e-Arafat for Waqoof will leave for Muzdalfa after sun-set where they will spend whole night in open sky and offering prayers.

About three million pilgrims from all over the world are performing ‘Waqoof’‚ in main ritual of Hajj in Maidan-e-Arafat.

They will stay in Maidan-e-Arafat till sun set offering prayers the whole day for seeking forgiveness of the Almighty Allah and His blessings for themselves and the humanity.

The pilgrims during their stay at Arafat will offer Zohar and Asr prayers jointly where Mufti-e-Azam Saudi Arabia will deliver Hajj sermon from Masjid e Nimra.

The Mufti in his sermon will highlight the importance of Hajj and teachings of Islam besides challenges being faced by the Ummah.

The pilgrims will leave for Muzdalfa after sun set where they will offer Magrib and Isha prayers jointly. They will spend whole night in the open sky in Muzdalfa.

The Hujjaj will leave Muzdalfa for Mina tomorrow morning for stoning of Shaitan (Satan) and offer sacrifice of animals besides offering Twaf-e-Ziarat that will complete their Hajj.
