Mariah Miller and Kelsey Ochsner win gold medals – High School State Championships

Mariah Miller and Kelsey Ochsner won gold medals of the Girls 200 yard Individual Medley (IM) and 100 yard butterfly, respectively at the 2012 High School State Championships.

Miller enjoyed a benefit of two body length over her toughest competitor and reached the medal rostrum for the crown with a timing of 2 minutes and 14.42 seconds.

Her astounding pace remained two body lengths ahead of Gracie Brown, who stayed 2.36 seconds slower from upsetting her foregoing finisher and tapped the wall for silver medal with an effort of 2 minutes and 16.78 seconds.

Brown was trailed by Angella Perry, who managed to secure third fastest spot of the race by producing an effort of 2 minutes and 20.46 seconds for third position.

Fourth spot of the race was secured by Rachel Sato, who was 1.33 seconds behind and emerged on the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 21.79 seconds.

Afterwards, the audience enjoyed gruelling efforts of Ochsner in the 100 yard butterfly. Ochsner edged out her toughest challenger over the finishing blockade as she proved her audacity for the title.

She destroyed hopes of her challengers in the butterfly race and claimed victory by producing a time of 56.23 seconds.

She was traced by Sarah Devine, who remained 7.01 seconds slower from upsetting her preceding swimmer and surfaced on the wall for silver medal with an effort of 1 minute and 03.24 seconds.

Third position of the race was secured by Gretchen Dougherty, who was 0.05 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing end for bronze medal with an effort of 1 minute and 03.29 seconds.

Dougherty was chased by Angella Perry, who was 0.12 seconds slower from her and occupied fourth position of the event by posting a time of 1 minute and 03.41 seconds.

In addition, the arena appreciated commendable efforts of all participants in their exclusive events while the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize distribution ceremony of the tournament.
