Sarah Morgan and Kelsey Ochsner capture gold medals – High School State Championships

Sarah Morgan and Kelsey Ochsner captured gold medals of Girls 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke, respectively at the 2012 High School State Championships.

With her unrelenting efforts, Morgan stifled hopes of her challengers and seized the title. She faced no difficulty from her closest challenger as she tapped the wall for gold medal with an incredible timing of 51.92 seconds.

The champion was followed by Julie Schmitt, who was significantly slower from her former swimmer and transpired on the wall for silver medal with a wonderful effort of 54.41 seconds.

Schmitt was trailed by Jonna Brown, who was half a body length behind and emerged on the wall for bronze medal with a nice timing of 55.15 seconds.

The bronze medallist was traced by Taylor Segrave, who remained 0.49 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall for fourth position with a timing of 55.64 seconds.

Following that, the audience witnessed scintillating form of Ochsner in the backstroke discipline. Ochsner stayed in a prominent lead over her toughest competitor from the start and paved her way towards the finishing wall for gold medal.

Her immaculate effort remained more than two body lengths ahead of her strongest rival, as she tapped the finishing end for the title with the timing of 57.37 seconds.

The top finisher was followed by Gracie Brown, who stayed 2.50 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 59.87 seconds.

Brown was traced by Larisa Jones, who remained 0.29 seconds away and settled on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 00.16 seconds.

Jones was traced by Emily Spiegelberg, who stayed just a touch behind and made her way to the finishing end as fourth fastest swimmer with the timing of 1 minute and 00.20 seconds.

In addition, the arena appreciated ruthless efforts of all participants while the championship came to an end after the completion of all scheduled events. Furthermore, the position holders received medals and accolades for their gruelling efforts at the
prize ceremony of the event.
