Bitburger Open GP Gold: Petya Nedelcheva tames Annika Horbach in Women’s Singles pre-quarter-final

1, in Germany.
The impressive Nedelcheva, who has been positioned at number three in Women’s Singles draw of the tournament, played in remarkable fashion and easily slaughtered her lower ranked German rival in just 20 minutes.
Bulgarian shuttler did not show any respect to her local opponent by playing attacking and positive badminton and easily finished off this pre-quarter-final match in straight games with an incredible score on the board.
On the other hand, Annika failed to show a strong resistance despite having the support of home fans. She could not cope up with the impressive speed of her Bulgarian challenger and crashed out by losing with a humiliating margin.
In the opening set, the aggressive Nedelcheva delivered a spectacular performance in the arena as she played strokes with deception from starting rallies.
The unmatched variations in Nedelcheva’s shots helped her to maintain her superiority against her opponent on court.
Nedelcheva advanced with an impressive speed in the first part and remained in lead on the board until the one-minute break.
In the meanwhile, Annika tried her best to put up strong resistance but could not take charge of rallies and remained trailing in the concluding half.
It was an uninterrupted ride for the in-form Nedelcheva who did not face any reasonable opposition from her challenger and won the first game with a reasonable 21-4 difference on the board.
Nedelcheva did not lose her concentration at any stage in the starting half of second game as she played with control and aggression.
The well directed smashes and net killings kept Nedelcheva ahead of her opponent all the way until the one-minute break in second set.
Bulgarian lady was calm and composed on court in the final points of second set and claimed the second game with a sound difference of 21-4.
Nedelcheva remained successful in finishing up this round-of-16 battle in straight games with a crushing 21-4 and 21-4 score on the board.
