Friday, November 2nd, 2012 1:01:52 by Faisal FarooqIn quite another comic statement, Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani on Thursday said that he will give prize money of Rupees 10 to anyone who suspends him from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad Thursday, the chief minister said that no one could revoke his membership of the party.
Commenting on the order of the Supreme Court that Balochistan’s government has lost its legitimacy, the chief minister of the insurgency-hit province said that he was waiting for the detailed ruling of the court.
He noted, “Situation in Balochistan is better than that of other provinces.” He, however, declined to concede that his government has failed to handle law and order situation in Balochistan.
The CM stated, “We are taking interest in the matters of the province; we are fulfilling our responsibilities.”
He alluded to the remarks of Balochistan Assembly’s only opposition member Yar Mohammad Rind, saying that he was an absconder and the Interior Ministry failed to apprehend him.
Without taking Yar Mohammad Rind’s name, Raisani argued that an absconder is interviewed by media persons.
CM Raisani stated that certain elements are spreading propaganda against Balochistan government; however, all decisions are being taken in the interest of the province.
He also announced that he would appear before the Supreme Court on Friday along with coalition partners in the Balochistan Law and order case. He stated that he would present his position on the case in front of the apex court.
Earlier, PPP’s Kalat division has suspended the party membership of Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani over continually violating party policies.
President of the PPP’s Kalat division, Rafeeq Sajjad, said that Raisani had been violating the party’s policies for the past four years which was why his membership had been suspended.
Sajjad said that neither were the issues of the PPP workers were being addressed, nor was Raisani spending sufficient time in Quetta.
