Imran Khan says only youth can build new Pakistan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan has said that 25 per cent of the party tickets will be given to the youth in the coming elections as only they could build new Pakistan.

Addressing a PTI Youth Convention, the cricketer-turned-politician urged the youth to come forward and with their help will contest against the other political parties. He stated, “I only need the youth of Pakistan to bring change, not big names or big politicians.”

He said that making a new Pakistan will only be possible with the youth, adding that the PTI will be the first party to give tickets to the youth.

The people who are saying that the PTI ‘tsunami’ has died down, have no idea about the tsunami that is about to come, he added.

“This is not my war, I was blessed with more than what I asked for; this is your war and if you don’t struggle, the future is going to be dark,” he said.

The PTI chief also said that people can leave the party whenever they wish to. It doesn’t make a difference to the PTI if people join or leave the party, the difference will only come about if the PTI changes its vision for the country, he said.

Khan said that in order to be a leader one has to overcome fear. He further added that those people are mistaken if they think that selling laptops to the youth will win them over.

Bashing the free laptop scheme of the Punjab government, Imran said the politicians cannot buy the youth of Pakistan by distributing computers and a good leader must be fearless, selfless and always speak the truth.

Responding to criticism regarding politicians quitting PTI and joining other political parties, Imran said his party is not affected by who is leaving the party.

“We welcome anyone who wants to become a part of our party but whoever wants to join, will do so on our terms,” he said, adding that everyone is free to leave PTI.
