Glenn Snyders and Britta Steffen won gold medal of the Men’s 100m breaststroke and Women’s 100m freestyle, respectively at the 2012 FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup Series in Beijing.
Snyders outperformed his opponents and transpired on the wall for gold medal with a timing of 57.96 seconds.
The champion was traced by Christian Sprenger, who remained 0.10 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and transpired on the finishing end as second position holder by producing a time of 58.06 seconds.
Sprenger was followed by Shuai Wang, who was 0.36 seconds slower and occupied bronze medal of the event by clocking a time of 58.42 seconds.
Similarly, fourth fastest spot of the race was secured by Sean Mahoney, who stayed 0.47 seconds behind and ended his race in fourth best place by submitting a time of 58.89 seconds.
Mahoney was chased by Zhi Xie, who suffered a deficit of 0.21 seconds from his foregoing finisher and submitted a time of 59.10 seconds for fifth position.
On the other hand, Steffen clinched gold medal of the 100m freestyle. She enjoyed an advantage of only an arm stroke over her toughest challenger and proved her mettle for the title by clocking an effort of 52.78 seconds.
The top fastest finisher was trailed by Shuyi Li, who remained 0.26 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall as second best finisher by producing a time of 53.04 seconds.
The second position holder was traced by Tang Yi, who was 0.13 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end as third best finisher by touching the wall with a timing of 53.17 seconds.
Afterwards, the arena witnessed mind-blowing efforts of Melanie Schlanger and Ruiqi Wang, who engaged each other in a neck-to-neck race. They remained only 0.74 seconds away from the bronze medallist and touched the wall with same timing of 53.91 seconds
for fourth spot.
In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the prize ceremony of the tournament while the session ended after the conclusion of all planned events.
