Jessica Hardy and Christian Sprenger win gold medals – FINA Swimming World Cup

Jessica Hardy and Christian Sprenger won gold medals of the Women’s 100m breaststroke and Men’s 50m breaststroke at the 2012 FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup Series in Singapore.

Hardy remained just an inch ahead of her closest competitor and surfaced on the finishing wall for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 05.58 seconds.

Her title claiming effort stayed 0.19 seconds ahead of Sarah Katsoulis, who occupied silver medal of the discipline by submitting a time of 1 minute and 05.77 seconds.

The silver medallist was traced by Rie Kaneto, who remained only half body length behind and surfaced on the finishing end for third position by producing an effort of 1 minute and 06.21 seconds.

Kaneto was followed by Sally Foster, who stayed 0.24 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and emerged on the finishing end as fourth fastest swimmer by producing a time of 1 minute and 06.45 seconds.

Fifth best spot of the race was obtained by Rebecca Ejdervik, who stayed 0.07 seconds slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall for fifth position with a timing of 1 minute and 06.52 seconds.

On the other hand, Sprenger captured the title of breaststroke discipline. He was only a touch ahead of his closest competitor and surfaced on the wall with a timing of 26.69 seconds.

The champion was trailed by Glenn Snyders, who remained only 0.05 seconds apart and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing an effort of 26.74 seconds.

The silver medallist was followed by Igor Golovin, who was 0.71 seconds slower from his former finisher and surfaced on the finishing as third position holder by clocking a time of 27.43 seconds.

Golovin was chased by Johannes Skagius, who suffered a loss of 0.08 seconds from his former finisher and surfaced on the wall as fourth position holder with a timing of 27.51 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament while the crowd appreciated exhausting efforts of all participants.
