Opposition wants to bring self-exiled Baloch leaders to talks: Ch. Nisar
Tuesday, November 13th, 2012 1:00:57 by Faisal FarooqOpposition Leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the opposition wants to build an atmosphere of confidence to bring self-exiled leaders of Balochistan to talks.
Talking to the media outside the Parliament house, the opposition leader and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that the government had not done anything to help the Baloch people, and now the opposition, along with all other parties, wants to form a platform to talk to self-exiled Baloch leaders, who are reluctant to talk to the government.
He revealed, “I have never told this to Mian Nawaz Sharif before only because it would have ended any chance of reconciliation between Ghulam Ishaq and Nawaz Sharif. I had personal relations with Ghulam Ishaq Khan.”
He also expressed his opinion that Ghulam Ishaq Khan did have a political role as a president of Pakistan, adding that his mistrust on investigations being done by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Asghar Khan’s case.
He stated, “FIA operates under Rehman Malik and everyone is aware of his repute.” The parties, whether they are sitting in the Parliament or not, will be brought together for the purpose, he added.
Chaudhry Nisar maintained that the opposition has managed to pass several resolutions unanimously but the government has not been able to do so.
“We passed a unanimous resolution on oil price fixation formula… but the government has not been able to move one step ahead on any resolution even after the passage of several months,” the leader of the Opposition said.
