Apparently unhappy by inaction on the Supreme Court’s ruling in the (National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) implementation case, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said that it was merely the powerless men who have to endure jail terms while the powerful get NROs.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the former cricketer-turned-politician lashed out at politicians saying they had made politics a business and they didn’t let any inquiries to be conducted. He called this the biggest problem of Pakistan.

Referring to Younus Habib, the owner of Mehran Bank implicated in the Mehrangate case for allegedly having a hand in the creation of the IJI, he stated, “A powerful man steals in the country and gets the NRO. This was also the NRO, they did not let an inquiry be conducted and did not let him be sentenced.”

The former captain was of the opinion that only the powerless people go to jail and this is the tragedy today. Khan said that Pakistan was in quicksand, questioning that would collects tax and who would end corruption in this country?

In his view the question that the masses needed to be informed about this. “The one who cannot do this cannot pull Pakistan out of this quicksand,” he added.

Referring to certain politicians, he said that those who themselves “have allegations against them of taking  Rs3.5 million and those who have Rs5 billion in Switzerland yet say they will not tell” cannot pull the country out of this quicksand.

The PTI chief said, “The two parties will save each other and not take any action except for this noorakushti and giving statements. He asked why the Supreme Court’s order had not yet been implemented. “When the time for the real job comes, i.e. to investigate, where is the FIA inquiry?” Khan questioned.

Commenting on deteriorating situation of Karachi, he stated that the provincial government failed to protect the lives and property of the people in the metropolis city. In his view, the de-politicization of the Sindh administration, especially the police, was the key to restoring peace.

Imran Khan is right about this Noora Kushti between Nawaz and Zardari. Nawaz has no morality and no moral courage to leave politics because this is what his politics has been all about. There is a long list of corruption of Nawaz, people don’t know that Asghar khan case and mehran bank case are two different cases which is yet to come and which is far more bigger than the Asghar khan case and much more.Election commissioner should pro actively take action against all involved in corrupt practices in the past, starting from Nawaz,he is mother of all evils…Also, Nawaz is not leader material,Nawaz left the people of this country and fled away saving his wealth…Imran Khan is the leader.

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf keeps roaring on the money of political leaders abroad and how that is affecting our country’s development. Imran Khan is known to be a person of means, and this I am quite certain that he has certain obligations abroad, like an ex-wife and sons living with his ex-wife. Does he send the kids any money or he doesn’t? If he does, he either does it from Pakistan, through remittance or has accounts abroad. If he doesn’t, that would speak volumes about the man who preaches morality, ghairat and honor. These are his personal matters and should not be discussed that much, however, something more public is his accomplished project of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.
