Pakistani Right-Wing Politician Qazi Hussain Ahmad Survives Suicide Attack
Monday, November 19th, 2012 4:41:07 by Syed Hassan BokhariQazi Hussain Ahmad, former head of the Pakistani right-wing political party, the Jamaat-e-Islami, survived a suicide attack on his convoy in the Mohmand tribal region on Monday, November 19, 2012.
The politician and party he represents have always been known to have a soft corner for religious extremist groups like the Taliban, but someone has yet to take responsibility or be blamed for the attack that was carried out by a female suicide bomber, who was the only one killed at the end of it.
She attacked the convoy as it was moving towards a public gathering, where the seasoned politician was scheduled to address supporters. Three members of the convoy were reportedly hurt in the incident and were shifted to a nearby hospital, but their conditions are now believed to be stable according to latest reports from the institutions medical staff.
Details are expected to be released in the upcoming days as law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the incident.
