Alexianne Castel and Camille Muffat secure gold medals: French Short Course Nationals

Alexianne Castel and Camille Muffat secured gold medals of the Women’s 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle respectively at the 2012 French Short Course Nationals.

Castel stayed in a comfortable lead over her opponents and stepped on the victory stand for gold medal by producing a time of 2 minutes and 05.42 seconds.

The champion was chased by Auriane de Premilhat, who was three and a half body length slower from her former finisher and touched the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 08.96 seconds.

Premilhat was followed by Marie Jugnet, who remained almost two and a half seconds slower from her preceding swimmer and reached the finishing wall for third position by producing a time of 2 minutes and 11.53 seconds.

Fourth spot of the race was secured by Suzanne Afchain, who was prominently away from securing her spot on the podium and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 13.11 seconds.

Afchain was followed by Alice Boutant, who was 0.90 seconds apart and hit the wall with a timing of 2 minutes and 14.01 seconds for fifth position.

Following that, Muffat occupied gold medal of the 200m discipline. With her alluring efforts, Muffat enjoyed a considerable lead over her rivals and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal with an effort of 1 minute and 51.65 seconds.

The champion was traced by Charlotte Bonnet, who remained nearly four seconds slower from her former finisher and tapped the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 55.13 seconds.

The second position holder was chased by Lotte Friis, who remained two seconds apart and ended her swim in third place by producing an effort of 1 minute and 57.13 seconds.

Fourth finest spot of the race was gained by Mylene Lazare of AAS Sarcelles Natation 95, who stayed 0.32 seconds slower and settled on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 57.35 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received awards and accolades for their notable efforts in their respective events while the championship ended after the session.
