Wong Wing Ki crushes Wei Sheng Loh to secure his place in Men’s Singles round-of-16 at Macau Open

Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Ki stretched his winning streak in the arena and reached into Men’s Singles round-of-16 after defeating Malaysia’s Wei Sheng Loh in second round of Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Wednesday, November 28, in Macau.
The higher ranked Wing Ki, who has been positioned at number 23 in Men’s Singles world ranking, played with remarkable speed and easily tamed his lower ranked Malaysian challenger in just 30 minutes.
Hong Kong player was in complete control of rallies as he played with tremendous precision in the arena and remained successful in winning the match in straight games with a striking margin on the board.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Wei Sheng could not put up strong show as he failed to play positive badminton and also remained struggling in taking the bird early.
Malaysian shuttler also failed to cope up with the incredible speed and attacking play of his higher ranked rival and lost the match without taking any set.
In the starting game, the impressive Wing Ki showed a spectacular show in the arena as he executed strokes with dictating control from opening points.
The highly elevated craft and wonderful game plan assisted Wing Ki to keeps his rival in all sorts of problem in the arena.
Wing Ki stayed in dominating position all the way to take a convincing lead until the end of first part.
The lofty Wing Ki remained comfortable in the arena after the mid-game interval as he played with the same speed.
It was a smooth sailing for the higher ranked Wing Ki who did not face any reasonable fight from his rival and won the first set with a reasonable 21-16 difference on the board.
Wei Sheng was again in all sorts of trouble in the second game as he received a hostile treatment from his rival who was flawless in the arena.
Until the one-minute break, the fifth seeded Wing Ki remained consistent in playing with command and variations and stayed ahead on the board.
The aggressive strategy in the ending half of second set helped the Hong Kong shuttler to bag the set with a reasonable 21-10 score on the board.
Wing Ki remained successful in winning this second round battle against Wei Sheng in straight sets with a one-sided margin of 21-16 and 21-10.
