Ballmer blames Microsoft for being late in the tablet market

Ballmer revealed that the technology giants acted like a tortoise in the ongoing race of innovation and were second best in adopting them to new technology most preferably the tablet market.
However, he went on to recognize that his company failed to react in a sudden manner with the boom of tablets. This is an issue that especially hurts the company because Microsoft actually invented the concept of tablet over ten
years.
"We’re innovating on the seam between software and hardware," said Ballmer, asked why his company had fallen behind rival Apple. "Maybe we should have done that earlier."

Ballmer did not give sales figures for the tablet Surface, launched a month ago, but said, regarding the new mobile operating system W8P quadruple regarding its sales compared to 2011.
