Murder case registered against MQM chief Altaf Hussain
Saturday, December 1st, 2012 10:17:44 by Web DeskMuttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain along with other party workers has been implicated in a murder case. Three office-bearers of the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (Haqiqi), including its vice chairman, along with a taxi driver were killed in a gun attack on the taxi in Landhi on Thursday.
According to police, an FIR was registered under Clauses 302/34 and 109 on Friday in Shrafi Goth Police Station against seven persons on the complaint of MQM-H worker Tahir Ali.
The reports said besides Altaf Hussain, MQM’s Karachi organising committee chief Hamad Siddiqui, Manzoor alias Lamba Landhi wala, Raees alias Mumma, Ahsan Iqbal and two other familiar persons were also among the accused persons.
In the FIR, the complainant reportedly said that the MQM-H leaders and taxi driver were killed through firearms on the directive of Altaf Hussain. He also reportedly said that he can recognise the other accused on appearance.
However, senior police officials of the city have denied that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain has been implicated in a murder case.
Additional Inspector General of Police Iqbal Mahmood, acting DIG East Captain Asim and SSP Investigations Malir Altaf Awan categorically said that the MQM chief had not been nominated as an accused in the murder case of three Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) leaders and a cab driver, who had been shot dead in Landhi a day earlier. They said rumours to this effect were unfounded and baseless.
