Pakistan wants to improve bilateral ties with India: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar
Saturday, December 1st, 2012 1:02:16 by Web DeskPakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Friday said Islamabad desires to improve bilateral relations and resolve all conflicts with New Delhi in the interest of peace and stability in the region.
In an interview with a private television channel‚ she said the government had expanded trade relations with India to reduce hostility between the two neighboring countries.
She said Pakistan always used diplomacy to highlight the Kashmir issue and resolve it through dialogue. She said Pakistan is against any type of terrorism and insurgency and condemns the non-state actors in any part of the world.
On the recently held summit of Developing-Eight (D-8) countries in Islamabad, Hina Khar said that it improved Pakistan’s image in front of the civilized world due to participation of heads of state and government participated in the summit.
She said that all D-8 member countries needed to improve more relations in the fields of trade and business like the European Union (EU) and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).
To another question about foreign policy‚ Hina Rabbani Khar said the mainstay of Pakistan’s foreign policy is regional cooperation as it believes in improving ties with all the regional countries.
She said Pakistan also enjoys good relations with the Obama administration‚ which were based on mutual interest and respect.
Replying to a question on foreign policy, she said that the Foreign Ministry played an advisory role while the government took decisions through the Parliament.
