Iran captures America unmanned aircraft
Tuesday, December 4th, 2012 2:30:37 by Web DeskOnce again proving its national integrity, Iran on Tuesday captured an unmanned US drone over Gulf waters, a report said.
According to a report, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps have captured a US ScanEagle drone over the Persian Gulf waters upon its intrusion into the Iranian airspace.
Commander of the IRGC Navy Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said that his forces hunted a US Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) over the Persian Gulf after the drone violated the country’s airspace.
The UAV which had conducted several reconnaissance flights over the Persian Gulf general zone in the past few days was caught and brought under control by air defense units and control systems of the IRGC Navy.
The IRGC navy commander announced that the haunted UAV was a ScanEagle drone, adding that “such drones are usually sent to mission from large warships”.
Iran had also captured the US surveillance drone in 2011. The country says it has planned to introduce domestically made unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or drone next year.
