Ricky Berens and Missy Franklin win gold medals – AT&T Winter National Championships

Ricky Berens and Missy Franklin won gold medals of the 200 yards freestyle in Men and Women’s corner at the 2012 AT&T Winter National Championships in Austin, USA.

Berens showed no mercy to his challengers from the start and paved his way towards the finishing wall for the title by producing a time of 1 minute and 31.96 seconds.

The gold medallist was traced by Joao de Lucca, who remained 0.61 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the wall for silver medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 32.57 seconds.

Lucca was followed by Ryan Lochte, who stayed 0.70 seconds apart and reached the finishing blockade by submitting a time of 1 minute and 33.26 seconds.

The third position holder was trailed by Nikita Lobintsev, who was 0.40 seconds slower from securing his spot on the medal rostrum and ended fourth in the race by reporting a time of 1 minute and 33.66 seconds.

Lobintsev was chased by Clay Youngquist, who was 0.23 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and reached the wall for fifth position by posting a time of 1 minute and 33.89 seconds.

Afterwards, Franklin accomplished the title of Women’s 200m discipline. She provided no chance to her challengers and surfaced on the finishing blockade for gold medal by producing an effort of 1 minute and 42.42 seconds.

The champion was chased by Erika Erndl, who remained 1.04 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and reached the finishing end for silver medal by touching the wall with a timing of 1 minute and 43.46 seconds.

Erndl was followed by Karlee Bispo, who remained 0.53 seconds away from her foregoing finisher and touched the wall for third position with an effort of 1 minute and 43.99 seconds.

Fourth spot of the race was gained by Katie Ledecky, who stayed 0.57 seconds slower from her foregoing finisher and settled on the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 44.56 seconds.

In addition, the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the victory ceremony of the tournament.
