Tomas Rosicky wants Arsenal to conquer their fans’ hearts again – football News
Friday, December 7th, 2012 8:56:45 by Awais AhmedCzech captain, Tomas Rosicky, emphasised gunners to win their fans again. Arsenal is currently standing at number 10 in the Barclays Premier League and has lost two consecutive matches.
Rosicky, who finished the 2011/2012 season in his best form, returned to action at the UEF Champions League clash against Olympiacos. He displayed solid performance including firing a goal. However, Arsenal could not keep up and eventually suffered their second consecutive loss.
Adding further to their misery, Gunners are now standing at number 10 in the Barclays Premier League table.
The former Borussia Dortmund star was quoted in an interview:
“I can understand it, I’m an Arsenal fan as well. On the other side, we have some young guys and they can feel the frustration as well. It’s definitely not helping them.”
Rosicky believes that if Arsene Wenger’s men can make an epic comeback last season then they could definitely do it again this season. He commented further:
“We all have to stick together – that’s the only thing we can do. It’s what we did last season when everybody was writing us off and we came back stronger.
After the [comeback] we produced, we could feel the great atmosphere we had at the Emirates, particularly the games against Tottenham and Milan.”
The Czech star made his first start of the season against Olympiacos on Tuesday. He made a stunning start by firing a volley. However, Rosicky does not want fans to expect much too early and reflected:
“I am a creative player – that’s the part I can contribute. But it will not be easy for me. I was out for a long time so I need to regain match fitness again. Of course I would like to play. Let’s see how it goes.”
Rosicky scored the opening goal and took the visiting side 1-0 up. However, Arsenal lost their concentration in the second half and eventually suffered a 2-1 loss.
As a result, Gunners were denied the top spot in their UEFA Champions League group.
