P. C. Thulasi tames Febby Angguni to win Women’s Singles title at India International Challenge

India’s budding shuttler P. C. Thulasi showed a wonderful performance on court and cheered her home fans by claiming Women’s Singles title at the Tata Open India International Challenge 2012 in India on Sunday, December 16.
In the final clash, Thulasi showed her remarkable skills and outplayed Indonesia’s Febby Angguni in a commanding fashion.
The fifth seeded Thulasi, who remained impressive throughout the tournament, played with superb confidence in front of her home fans and outplayed her Indonesian challenger in 56 minutes.
Thulasi was in staggering form in the arena as she did not face any considerable resistance from her rival and ended up the final battle in straight sets with a crushing margin on the board.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Febby failed to show up her brilliance as she could not match the speed and aggression of her local rival and lost the match without even getting close.
Thulasi performed extremely well from the starting points of first set as she played with phenomenal speed and grabbed the control.
Thulasi proved that she has attained top quality skills on court and eventually successful in taking a strong position in the arena.
Thulasi did not show any sign of confusion as she remained in complete command of rallies until the one-minute interval.
The confused Febby failed to play positive game after the one-minute interval as she lost her focus on court.
Thulasi did not slow down the pace of the game at any stage and remarkable clinched the first game with a sound 21-15 margin on the board.
Thulasi did not lose her superiority at any stage in the starting half of second set as she played with control and precision.
Thulasi displayed her incredible craft in the arena by picking the bird timely from all areas and kept her upper hand over her opponent.
Indian lady was quick and positive on court in the final points of second set and took the second game with a staggering margin of 21-13.
The impressive Thulasi remained successful in winning her home event in a completely dictating manner with a stunning 21-15 and 21-13 score on the board.
