Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 sci-fi flick. It is the final instalment of the series and was released on 20th July this year.
Christian Bale is back as Batman for this third instalment of Nolan’s Batman series. It is based on the DC Comics character Batman and is written by Nolan and his brother Jonathan. Michael Caine, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are starring as Alfred Pennyworth, James Gordon and Lucius Fox respectively.
Spicing the flick further, Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (played by Anne Hathaway) is one of the two main villains. Other character is Bane, portrayed by Tom Hardy, who is one of the most powerful Batman enemies.
Nolan chose not to film with 3-D cameras and after focusing on improving image quality, he chose IMAX cameras. By IMAX format, he hoped to push technological boundaries while nevertheless making the style of the film consistent with its previous two parts. .
Marketing of the movie was also started in May last year when the film’s official website was launched. It used amazing ways to promoted and whenever someone commented on its twitter link, a pixel was removed which eventually revealed Bane.
The movie received a positive rating of 87 per cent from a review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes. The site general consensus states, “The Dark Knight Rises is an ambitious, thoughtful, and potent action film that concludes Christopher Nolan’s franchise in spectacular fashion, even if it doesn’t quite meet the high standard set by its predecessor.”
Lisa Kennedy of the Denver Post gave it a 3.5 out of 4 rating and stated, “The director and cowriter/brother Jonathan Nolan pay heed to Wayne’s wounded emotional arc. And the film is a feat of painstakingly crafted closure.”
The production team can’t replace Joker – Heath Ledger but this flick is a must watch for all genre.
