KPT draw with PAF – Premier League news
Monday, December 17th, 2012 12:56:34 by Shahrukh SohailThe Karachi-based side held the title hopefuls in controversial circumstances after scoring late on to tie the game at 2-2.
PAF’s PPL hops were put into jeopardy as they failed to come out on top against Karachi Port Trust, although the match proved to be the highlight of the season so far.
The match officials were also put under intense scrutiny, with the PAF manager visibly livid with their performance during the ninety minutes.
“The referee has destroyed our mission and hurt us a lot with a poor decision. Strong neutral referees with sound credentials should be posted in the league as a single poor decision could damage the cause of strong teams,” Arshad said.
“No one can prove me wrong as everything has been captured in the video and we will also send it to the PFF to support our claim,” the coach was quoted saying.
“The team played well today,” KPT coach Mohammad Asif said. “It was really a tough game and we were lucky to bring an equaliser in the dying moments,” said Asif.
A complaint with the PFF is expected to be drafted, although it remains to be seen what the Federation does if they do find any evidence of mis-conduct.
