MQM activists prevented Altaf Hussain from returning home: Dr Farooq Sattar
Tuesday, December 18th, 2012 1:13:44 by Web DeskMuttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the party workers had prevented Altaf Hussain from coming back to Pakistan ‘as the party chief is facing unnatural threats here’, says media reports.
Talking to media representatives, Sattar said that personalities like Altaf Hussain were born in centuries. “He is a ray of hope for millions of Pakistanis and we cannot expose him to the real and present dangers,” he added.
The MQM leader said that in the present circumstances it would not be appropriate to ask him to come to Pakistan. “It was due to the existing hazards that he was stopped several times by the MQM workers from coming back to Pakistan.”
The MQM leader further stated that his party doesn’t want confrontation and they respect judiciary and we will continue to do so. He said political parties and public representatives have the right to express their opinion.
It may be mentioned here that the Supreme Court had served a contempt notice to MQM Chief Altaf Hussain ordering him to appear before the court on January 7 following the latter’s statement against judges during his telephonic address to a public meeting.
