Neeraj Vashist advance into Men’s Singles main round at Syed Modi International India GPG 2012

India’s impressive player Neeraj Vashist advanced into Men’s Singles main round after stunning his higher ranked team-mate Gaurav Venkat in qualifying round clash at Syed Modi International India GPG at Lucknow, on Tuesday, December 18.

The lower ranked Neeraj showed his aggression in the arena by playing attacking badminton and easily thrashed his fourth seeded challenger while spending just 18 minutes in the arena.

Neeraj was on a different level as he did not let his rival settled down on court and eventually registered a comprehensive victory by finishing up this contest in straight games with a crushing total on the board.

On the contrary, the higher ranked Gaurav was shocked with the incredible play of his un-seeded Indian challenger and eventually went down in a meagre way without proving his worth.

It was a wonderful fight in the initial points but soon Neeraj took over the control of rallies by employing his lofty skills in the arena and built a reasonable lead at the initial stage.

The highly elevated craft and wonderful strategy assisted Neeraj to put his challenger in all sorts of trouble in the arena.

Neeraj advanced with a terrific speed in the starting part while playing attacking badminton and remained in lead on score board until the break.

After the one-minute break, Neeraj was focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a reasonable difference.

Neeraj continued executing powerful strokes in targeted areas and managed to bag the opening game with a sound margin of 21-11.

In the second set, Neeraj did not lose his control at any stage in the first half as he played with confidence and precision.

Neeraj entertained the crowd with his tremendous craft that assisted him to keep pressure on his opponent who could not find positive run.

In the second half of second game, the lofty Neeraj continued his power play and easily wrapped up the second game by a stunning margin of 21-16.

The in-form Neeraj stayed in complete command in the arena and managed to end up this battle in just 18 minutes with a staggering 21-11 and 21-16 score on the board.
