Pakistan lost to India in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy

After a hard-fought game, India overcame Pakistan by 2-1 in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy played on Monday at Al-Rayyan Stadium, Doha.

Rupinderpal Singh of India has scored the first goal of the match in the 36^th minute, putting India ahead at 1-0.

In the 51^st minute of the game, India managed to double the tally and made the game tough for the Greenshirts. Pakistan was still struggling to get off the mark as score is 2-0.

After wasting many attempts, Pakistan scored their first goal on penalty corner. Score is now 2-1. However, this sole goal couldn’t save the Greenshirts from a defeat.

A total of seven penalty corners were given in the match: three to Pakistan and four to India.

After playing their four matches, India is still unbeaten. They beat China 4-0 in their first match of the tournament. They beat Japan 3-1 in their second match before giving an 11-0 humiliating defeat to minnows Oman yesterday.

For Pakistan, it was their first loss of the event as they have beaten Oman 8-3 in their first match and China 5-2 in the second. They were held to a 3-3 draw by Malaysia Sunday.

Pakistan will play its last match on December 26 against Japan and it will have to win the game if it wants to secure a place in the finals of the tournament.
