Lutfi confident of title win despite Baloch draw

The KRL boss claims that the reigning champions can still retain the trophy, although they suffered a setback after Baloch FC held them to a draw.

“The weather conditions were absolutely terrible. There was a freezing rain accompanied by sleet and our players aren’t used to playing in those conditions so it of course led to us missing a lot of chances.”

“Technically, it is an eight-point lead,” he said. “There are still six matches left and its going to be a good race to the finish line as there will be some high-profile fixtures amongst the top four clubs,” the former Pakistan coach was quoted as saying to the media.

Meanwhile, Karachi Port Trust got the better of PMC Atletico and scored five times against the Premier League minnows, although their manager was quite pleased with the eventual result, even though it was against a smaller side.

“Each victory is important, it doesn’t matter if it’s against a smaller team,” KPT manager Shah Naeem said. “We need to at least stay on the number 10th position. It’s the best we can do,” he added.
