Pakistan’s new Ambassador arrives in China
Friday, January 4th, 2013 3:37:17 by Web DeskAiming to further enhance the Pak-China relations, Pakistan’s new Ambassador to China, Masood Khalid, has arrived in Beijing on Friday.
He was received by Director, Asia Department of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shu Hang Thiang and officers of the Pakistan embassy at the Beijing Capital International Airport.
As per protocol, diplomats from the embassies of SAARC countries were also present to receive the Ambassador.
Masood Khalid, the ambassador-designate for Beijing, is a BPS-22 officer and a batch mate of Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani.
He has been transferred from Malaysia where he was posted as Pakistan’s High Commissioner since August 2010. Earlier, from 2005 to 2007, he also served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. At the headquarters, his last assignment was additional secretary on the Asia-Pacific desk.
The Beijing position had fallen vacant after Ambassador Masood Khan moved to New York as the country’s permanent representative at the UN.
