Indian skipper MS Dhoni may miss final ODI against Pakistan: Report
Saturday, January 5th, 2013 3:22:40 by Web DeskCaptain of the Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is reportedly doubtful for the final ODI match against Pakistan to be played in New Delhi on Sunday, due to a sore back.
Having conceded the three-match series to the Greenshirts after losing the opening two clashes in Chennai and Kolkata respectively, the final match is being looked at as a chance to save face.
Reports said that the Indian Cricket Board has called in Danish Karthik to join the team in place of Indian skipper. The intimation was given when both the teams reached Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi and participated I the practice session.
The Indian players on Saturday were seen training hard under the watchful eyes of Saba Karim and Vikram Rathoure. The two selectors also reportedly spoke separately to Dhoni and Virender Sehwag ahead of the third match.
If Dhoni is unfit, Virat Kohli may make his debut as Indian captain. There is also a chance of Gautam Gambhir replacing Dhoni as captain.
It is vital to mention here that the Indian team lost the first game of three-match series in Chennai by six wickets and the second in Kolkata by 85 runs to give their arch foes their first series win on Indian soil since 2004-05.
