“After we scored the goal, we were given tough time by PIA in the end but thankfully I was able to avert a couple of certain goals,” said the Green Shirts International while talking to the media.
“Overall it was a tough match as both sides played extremely well. We had problems in our frontline and it is the area where we need improvement,’ added the player, who also picked up the man-of-the-match award after the game.
On the other hand, PIA coach Shamim Khan was far from pleased with the result and lamented his side’s ability to find the back of the net.
“You know we squandered a handful of open net chances. But it was one of the best matches of the season. After we conceded a goal due to a defensive blunder, Jaffar did fine goalkeeping and that damaged us,” added the tactician.
Navy were unable to get the better of WAPDA in another Pakistan Premier League game, with coach Mehfooz claiming that if you don’t covert chances, you are unable to secure victory.
“If you don’t convert your chances you can’t win. But still it was a thrilling game as both sides worked hard in the middle,” he said.
