Yonex Ontario Elite Series: Maximilian Koreny outplays Joseph Rogers in Men’s Singles quarter-final

Canada’s experienced player Maximilian Koreny showed a great performance on court and stormed into Men’s Singles semi-final after giving a shocking treatment to his higher ranked compatriot Joseph Rogers in quarter-final clash at 2012 Yonex Ontario Elite Series on Friday, January 4, in Toronto.

The in-form Maximilian, who is un-seeded player in Men’s Singles main draw in this championship, showed his staggering skills and he thrashed the top seeded Joseph in a completely commanding fashion.

Maximilian was on a different level while playing against Joseph as he played with remarkable precision and managed to overpower his rival in a lopsided fashion with a huge margin on the score board.

On the contrary, the higher ranked Joseph was shocked with the cruel treatment that he received from his challenger. He could not put up strong show at any stage and bowed down against his lower ranked challenger in a vulnerable fashion.

Maximilian showed a wonderful aggression on court from the starting points of first game by creating a remarkable pressure on his opponent.

The impressive Maximilian showed that he has got top quality skills on court and remained successful in getting a strong position in the arena.

The un-seeded Maximilian did not show any sign of confusion as he remained in complete command of the pace until the one-minute break.

Maximilian continued employing powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually bagged the opening game with a stunning difference of 21-9.

Things were not much different in the second game of this interesting match as Maximilian played in the similar aggressive way.

The well directed smashes and net killings kept Maximilian ahead of his opponent all the way until the one-minute interval in second game.

Joseph failed to put up strong show in the second set of this fight as his challenger Maximilian played positive badminton and clinched the game with a reasonable 21-13 margin on the board.

The lofty Maximilian Koreny showed a wonderful performance and made his presence strongly felt by finishing up this quarter-final clash in straight sets with a huge margin of 21-9 and 21-13.
