Ontario Elite Series: Michelle Li outplays Stephanie Pakenham in Women’s Singles semi-final clash

Michelle Li, an experienced player from Canada, showed her brilliance on court and stormed into Women’s Singles final after showing exit to Stephanie Pakenham in semi-final battle at 2013 Yonex Ontario Elite Series in Toronto, on Saturday, January 5.

The incredible Michelle, who is seeded at the top in the main draw of the championship, entertained her home fans by playing with impressive precision and easily wrapped up a comprehensive victory in just 30 minutes.

Michelle proved that she has got top class skills as she played mature game all the way and easily ousted Stephanie in a lopsided manner in straight sets with a comfortable margin on the score board.

On the other hand, the third seeded Stephanie tried her level best to continue her winning run in the tournament but she could not prove her worth against the in-form Michelle and lost to her without putting up strong resistance.

The aggressive Michelle showed her attacking skills from the opening rallies of first set as she played with spectacular speed and grabbed the control of driving seat.

The top class skills and remarkable game plan assisted Michelle to put her opponent in all sorts of problem on court.

Michelle did not show any confusion as she remained in complete control of rallies until the end of first part.

After the mid-game interval, Michelle was focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a reasonable lead.

The top seeded Michelle remained consistent in hitting powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually took the first game with a superb total of 21-11.

Stephanie was once again in problem in the second game as she received a cruel treatment from her rival who was aggressive in the arena.

Until the end of first part, the lofty Michelle remained consistent in playing with command and variations and stayed ahead on the board.

The planned and positive play in the concluding part of second set assisted Michelle to claim the set with a superb 21-13 score on the board.

The lofty Michelle stamped her supremacy in the arena by winning this Women’s Singles semi-final battle in a completely one-sided manner with a crushing margin of 21-11 and 21-13.
